Custom double bunk beds

Furniture should do more than fill a space—it should become part of your family's story.

At Frank L Garrett Construction, every piece begins with a conversation. Whether you have a fully developed vision or just the beginning of an idea, Frank works with you to design and build handcrafted furniture that complements your home, reflects your style, and is built to last for generations.

Working from his woodshop in Redmond, Oregon, Frank creates one-of-a-kind furniture using premium hardwoods, traditional joinery techniques, and decades of woodworking experience. From coffee tables and dining tables to custom bunk beds and statement pieces, every project is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted from start to finish.

Designed Around Your Home

One of the greatest advantages of custom furniture is that it doesn't require compromise.

Every piece is designed around your space, your style, and your needs.

Whether it's a coffee table sized specifically for your living room, a dining table built for family gatherings, or a custom bunk bed designed for generations of memories, every project begins with understanding how the piece will be used.

Clients can customize nearly every aspect of their furniture, including:

  • Dimensions and proportions

  • Wood species

  • Finish colors

  • Edge profiles

  • Design details

  • Wood and epoxy combinations

  • Wood and metal combinations

From timeless hardwood furniture to modern mixed-material designs, if you can envision it, Frank can help bring it to life.

Inspired by Timeless Craftsmanship

Furniture has always been one of Frank's greatest passions.

His work is inspired by the timeless craftsmanship of Greene & Greene, Stickley, and the American Arts & Crafts movement—designs known for honest construction, elegant proportions, and exceptional attention to detail. More recently, Frank continues to study and learn from respected furniture makers including Mark Spagnuolo, Matt Cremona, and Cameron Anderson of Blacktail Studio.

Building furniture allows Frank to express the creative side of woodworking in ways that construction simply cannot. Every curve, joint, finish, and proportion is carefully considered to create pieces that not only function beautifully but invite you to appreciate the craftsmanship every time you see—or even touch—them.

Built to Last for Generations

Beautiful furniture begins with beautiful design, but it is the construction beneath the surface that determines whether a piece will last a lifetime.

Every project is built using proven woodworking techniques including mortise and tenon joinery, through mortise and tenon, half laps, domino joinery, plate joinery, and other traditional methods selected specifically for the application.

Strength matters just as much as appearance. Every design is engineered to withstand decades of everyday use while maintaining tight joints and structural integrity. When needed, Frank even consults with his mechanical engineer son to validate structural concepts and ensure every design performs exactly as intended.

The result is furniture built to become family heirlooms—not disposable pieces destined for the next garage sale or online marketplace listing.

Furniture We Build

Each project is custom designed, but some of the furniture Frank enjoys building includes:

  • Coffee Tables

  • End Tables

  • Sofa Tables

  • Dining Tables

  • Custom Bunk Beds

  • Desks

  • Entertainment Furniture

  • Built-In Furniture

  • Wine Storage

  • Bars

  • One-of-a-Kind Statement Pieces

Whether you're looking for a single piece or a coordinated furniture collection, every project is designed specifically for your home.

Premium Materials

Choosing the right wood is one of the most important parts of the design process.

Frank especially enjoys working with walnut, maple, and quarter-sawn white oak—three hardwoods that have been staples of fine furniture for generations because of their beauty, stability, and durability.

Other premium hardwoods, including mahogany, sapele, and Brazilian cherry, each bring their own unique character and can be combined to create striking visual contrast. Whenever possible, Frank prefers allowing the natural beauty of the wood to speak for itself, though modern finishing systems like Rubio Monocoat also offer beautiful color options while remaining durable and easy to maintain for years to come.

The Beginning of a Furniture Collection

The recently introduced Cloud 9 coffee table marks the beginning of an exciting new furniture collection.

Inspired by the historic "cloud lift" details of Greene & Greene architecture, Cloud 9 combines timeless craftsmanship with a modern floating appearance. Matching end tables are already complete, with additional designs planned in the future.

As the collection grows, each design will continue to reflect the same commitment to quality, creativity, and heirloom craftsmanship.
